Stephanie Rozzo is a freelance science illustrator based out of Monterey California. Her art portrays plants, animals, people and geology realistically. She specializes in synthesizing a variety of information in order to communicate a complex idea through art. This is achieved by research and consultations with experts. Her art brings clarity to images and shows subjects in a way that cannot be photographed.

Stephanie’s goal as a scientific illustrator is to inspire scientific awareness, appreciation, understanding and nature conservation through art.

About Stephanie:

  • Drawing life since she was a very young and also always interested in Natural History.
  • Bachelor of Science in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Arizona in Tucson Arizona.
    • as an undergraduate she took courses in Drawing and Color & Design. While studying abroad in Australia at Newcastle University, she took advantage of the opportunity to take an introductory course in Scientific Illustration
  • Animal related work experiences:
    • veterinary assisting, wildlife rehabilitation, zoo education, and zoo keeping and training of various Sonoran Desert and exotic animals
  • Graduate Certificate in Scientific Illustration from California State University Monterey Bay
